me5Tell me a little about yourself and your background?

I am a full time online health and fitness coach, from New Orleans Louisiana. I’m engaged, a dog mom, and love helping mentor women in finding their freedom from self-negativity, negative body image, food addiction, depression, anxiety and help them learn to love themselves for all that they are.

4 years ago, I was a college grad who had been struggling with crash dieting/binge eating/yo-yo dieting. I had gained over 45+ lbs. in college and had tried EVERY “diet” out there – from starving my body to cutting out food groups, to trying magic wraps or pills that was supposed to melt fat off – but nothing ever worked LONG TERM. My weight gain started to cause some major anxiety and depression in my life. I didn’t want to leave my house, and it started affecting my relationship and it just was changing who I was as a person.

I finally came to a point where I knew if something didn’t change I was going to lose some pretty important people in my life – including my now fiancé – so I decided to make a change. I found these at home fitness and nutrition programs with a huge community of support and I knew that if I gave it all I had that it could work. Little did I know it would forever change my life! Not only did I lose over 50+ lbs. with these programs, but I found my own passion and purpose to help others in their health, fitness, and life journeys!

What aspect of fitness do you enjoy the most?

My favorite aspect of fitness that I love the most is the COMMUNITY within it. I’m a part of a pretty incredible online community that has come together to support, encourage, motivate and inspire one another. I’ve never seen so many women and men from all walks of life come together to simply empower one another to be the best & healthiest versions of ourselves that we can be! I know personally without having so much support and encouragement there wouldn’t have been anyway I would have succeed in my own personal journey! Getting to meet new friends from all across the world, that just want to help me succeed in my own struggles have been my all-time favorite part of this journey!

How long have you been into fitness?

I’ve been coaching for almost 4 years now. (Make 4 years in May)

How did you get into fitness?

Originally started to get my own personal results, but continued in hopes to inspire other women

What was a turning point for you to take it seriously?

When I knew my relationship was on the line. I was so unhappy with myself that I was lashing out at my fiancé, to the point where we were constantly fighting. I would get mad at him for telling me I was beautiful or that he loved me because I couldn’t understand how anyone could love the person I was becoming. I didn’t love myself and who I saw staring back in the mirror and it was reflecting back on our relationship. I knew if something didn’t change I would lose the most important person in my life.

How has fitness impacted your life?

It has saved me from myself. Not only has it helped me learn what I am capable of doing, but it has given me LIFE again! I no longer hide in my room or turn down trips or events with my friends. I no longer cry in dressing rooms when shopping or let food control me. I’ve learned to look into the mirror and love who I see staring back at me. It’s helped me learn how to control my depression and anxiety in a healthy way and has helped me just have a happier life.

What words of advice or encouragement would you like to give to someone who is just starting out or would like to start but doesn’t know where to begin?

I would tell someone who is just starting out or wants to start but doesn’t know where to just DO IT! My biggest regret was waiting to start because of my own self-limiting beliefs or fears – if I can do this anyone can! And if you need help ask for it! my BIGGEST advice  in having success in this journey is to find a COMMUNITY of support – find people on a similar journey who you can go to daily for inspiration, motivation, and encouragement! It truly makes a difference to have a community behind you along the way!
