Tell me a little about yourself and your background?
I am Ashley Clark, 28 years young from a very small town in GA. I have lived here my whole life. I am a part time personal trainer/coach & full time insurance agent! I am a mom to three, four-legged fur babies! I love making people laugh, I love helping people be the best versions of themselves in hopes they can live their best life.
What aspect of fitness do you enjoy the most?
I love learning and watching how the body changes and how it works. You can set ANY goal and make it happen with the right training and correct nutrition. The body is an amazing thing and watching it progress and transform is so interesting and inspiring.
How long have you been into fitness?
I got serious about lifting weights and eating healthy for about 3 years now! Fitness is such a huge part of my life and I am so glad that I realized how important it was when I did. I do wish I realized sooner haha
How did you get into fitness?
I was always active growing up but after high school I let myself go. I partied a lot and I just didn’t take care of myself like should have and I became very insecure & self-conscious which lead to being depressed, I was tired ALL the time and just didn’t like what I saw in the mirror. I knew I needed to make a change and the first step was getting a gym membership & learning to meal prep!
What was a turning point for you to take it seriously?
Honestly, When I started seeing results & I realized how good it made me feel physically & mentally. I knew I was in it for the long run. People think we do it just for the physical part of things but truly working out is my therapy. Makes me feel so good!
How has fitness impacted your life?
Fitness has changed my life in many aspects. Of course being confident in my own skin is a big part of it but I have grown so strong mentally. I am more determined, more goal oriented and I never settle. I work hard all the time and give everything 100% because fitness has taught me nothing is handed to you and when you work hard for something you appreciate the outcome so much more!.
What words of advice or encouragement would you like to give to someone who is just starting out or would like to start but doesn’t know where to begin?
Don’t over complicate things. Make a plan and execute. Don’t over think it. Start small! Just make good choices when eating and be active! Also, never be afraid to ask for help! Everyone in the gym is there for the same reasons so don’t let them intimidate you. Everyone belongs.
