IMG_20180327_073034_139.jpgTell me a little about yourself and your background?

I come from Croatia, where I danced practically since I was 3 years old πŸ™‚ Ballet, jazz, hip-hop, you name it! The studio was my second home, and although school was my priority, dance was my passion. I started yoga when I was 13 due to lower back pain and fell in love with it instantly because of the way it made me feel AND because it helped my back muscles tremendously. For years, I had been juggling school (I have a Masters in Law), dance, rehearsals, competitions, music videos, musicals, yoga…and I decided to become a yoga teacher in 2010. I loved my training & the opportunity to teach my fellow dance colleagues how yoga can help them. I’ve worked with a variety of people, from athletes and dancers, to pregnant women & models. After meeting my husband (boyfriend at the time), we moved to Spain for 3 years where I also finished a nutrition course to complement my teaching (and finished my Masters). In 2016 we moved to Seattle, WA where we now reside. I teach yoga & Ballet Barre in Lifetime Fitness, offer nutrition coaching, write yoga & nutrition blogs & work on my brand.

What aspect of fitness do you enjoy the most?

I enjoy the vast variety of options we all have – not every type of fitness is the same for everyone. No exercise, no diet, no lifestyle habits can be copy pasted. It all depends on the individual and what works for him/her at that point in their lives.

How long have you been into fitness?

Since I was 3 years old πŸ™‚

How did you get into fitness?

I had been dancing all over the house ever since I was able to walk, so my parents enrolled me into ballet classes and from there…it never stopped! πŸ™‚

Β What was a turning point for you to take it seriously?

I honestly didn’t have a turning point because being active was a part of my life since as long I can remember, and I cannot really picture it any other way.

How has fitness impacted your life?

It made me patient, focused, grateful for even the smallest of progress, educated in all aspects of the human body & nutrition, fulfilled & happy.

What words of advice or encouragement would you like to give to someone who is just starting out or would like to start but doesn’t know where to begin?

Listen to your body, nourish it with amazing foods, do workouts that make you happy & hungry for more, and enjoy the process! Don’t be afraid or embarrassed to ask for guidance or help, everyone has to start somewhere! You don’t need a fancy gym membership or emptying your bank account for all the latest superfoods. Find what works for you & make little tweaks along the way πŸ™‚

Cheers!
