Tell me a little about yourself and your background?
Hi everyone! Thanks for having me on here. My name is Neda Varbanova and I am the creator of Healthy With Nedi.
What aspect of fitness do you enjoy the most?
I love mixing up my workouts! This keeps me motivated and I’m never bored. I do a mix of weight training, boxing, Pilates and once or twice a week a few HIIT cardio sessions on the treadmill (15-20min). I love these short sprints because the time flies and it helps to burn body fat much quicker than long, steady runs.
How long have you been into fitness?
Ever since I can remember to be honest… I started skiing when I was 6 years old. I was always into sports and through my teens did gymnastics, swimming, cross country and cheerleading. I love the way I feel after the endorphins release and it’s such a great way to destress.
What was a turning point for you to take it seriously?
I started training seriously when I was in high school. Being on the cross-country team took a lot of hard work and dedication. We ran A LOT. Lol I think this is why now I am more into short sprints :).
How has fitness impacted your life?
Fitness has impacted my life in so many ways. I am healthier and happier when I get to exercise. I love working out first thing in the morning because this sets my intentions for the rest of the day and helps me make smarter decisions. For example, if I go to a workout class, I will refuel with something like scrambled eggs and smoked salmon knowing they are helping me recover and build muscle tone. By working out in the morning, I not only make smart choices in the morning but continue to do so for the rest of the day.
What words of advice or encouragement would you like to give to someone who is just starting out or would like to start but doesn’t know where to begin?
I would say just go for it! There are so many awesome workouts available now from classes to different apps that we all have plenty of choices. Try out different workouts to see what you really like because we are all individuals and what may work for me, may not for you. So, find what you love and get moving! Xx
