I am 29 years old and from Kansas City – I went to Kansas State university (graduating in 2011 with a business mgmt. degree) – Besides fitness / nutrition, my other passions are traveling, spending time with family / friends, shopping and walking my dog

What aspect of fitness do you enjoy the most?

I love the challenge that fitness brings and how it is something you have to put work in towards every single day! You are never done or complete.

How long have you been into fitness?

I have been into fitness since I was 16 so about 15 years now

How did you get into fitness?

I have always been athletic and played sports when I was younger but, didn’t have the physique I wanted. So, I started running when I was 16 and didn’t know enough about nutrition so I under ate. šŸ™ As I got older and wiser, I knew there had to be other ways to stay fit without running and eating hardly anything. I got into lifting weights and doing less cardio and eating more and I looked better than ever. In 2015 I signed up for my first bikini competition and learned so much

from there I decided to keep going and finding new ways to make fitness fun in Jan of 2018 I started my own coaching business to help others with their fitness and nutrition goals because I know how hard it can be to get started alone when you feel like you know nothing!

What was a turning point for you to take it seriously?

After my first competition – see above šŸ™‚

How has fitness impacted your life?

Fitness has gotten me through some of the toughest times in my life – losing loved ones, having my home flood / postponing my wedding, etc.

The gym was always there as therapy and nutrition kept me healthy even when it felt too hard

What words of advice or encouragement would you like to give to someone who is just starting out or would like to start but doesn’t know where to begin?
My words of advice and encouragement to those just starting out is never give up! there will be times where you fail and take a few steps backward but, just keep going! keep moving forward and know that consistency trumps all! there is no set timeline in reaching your goals – you just have to keep working every single day!
